We Hate Good Byes

WOW! We had such a fun weekend.  Jon got home late Friday night from his trip and we had the fun of spending all day Saturday and Sunday with him.  We headed South on Saturday to visit our friends the Swanson's.  We spent 5 hours in the Swanson's awesome pool and both Jon and I are so amazed at how much the kids are doing with swimming this summer.  I think they all have grown fins because they are such good swimmers.  Saturday at the pool they even started to jump off the diving board WITHOUT A LIFE JACKET and then swim by themselves to the side of the pool to get out.  WOW!  So fun to watch them go.

Sunday we headed to our old church to say goodbye to Father Bernie.  He is moving to a different church and we will not see him anymore.  Father Bernie holds such a special place in our hearts as he married Jon and I almost 10 years ago.  He gave such an awesome sermon at our wedding.  Then 4 years later, he baptized our three babies.  It was a first for him as he had never baptized triplets before. The kids adore Father Bernie as well as we do.  It will be sad to see him go but we wish him well.

Kids and Summer

Summer vacation has been in progress now around here for almost a month.  It is hard to believe that a month has gone by.  Today was one of those hot summer days and the kids spent most of it outdoors.  They LOVE to be outside this summer.  It is fabulous!

So far we have made a trip to the Zoo, we completed a week of VBS with our good friends the Clarks, we took a trip up north to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa Erickson, they have started their summer afternoon camp and love it, and we have been swimming a ton.
Every year, the summers always get easier for us with the three kids.  This year is no exception to that rule.  The kids can help apply their own sun screen and at the pool they have turned into little fish.  They are growing up so much and they are all starting to become so independent.  It is so easy to take them anywhere now as they can buckle themselves into the car and walk close to me in a parking lot.
They truly enjoy games of four square, kick ball, Kick the can, and baseball in the front yard with the neighborhood kids and it seems as though lately these games are happening most nights.
It is so fun to watch them become such "big" kids this summer.  Kindergarten will be here before we know it!

Happy Father's Day

Jon was out of town this past weekend on his annual fishing trip so we did not get to spend a lot of time with him on Father's Day.  However, when he arrived home, we showered him with lots of love!  He works so hard for all of us and he is such a great dad.  We miss him when he is away but we enjoy him so much more when he comes home.  Happy Father's Day Jon!  We love you.

Living it up in Lake Tahoe

This past weekend, Jon and I attended the wedding of his good friend Jeff.  The best part about it was that the wedding was in South Lake Tahoe.  I had never been to this beautiful part of the country so it was especially fun for me to visit and check it all out.  It was so beautiful...I mean truly amazingly beautiful!  I would love to go back some day and go skiing in the winter.

We flew into Sacramento on Thursday morning and spent the day visiting some winery's on our way up the mountain.  We had our friends Brad and Stacey with us and they were a lot of fun to have on the trip.  We had lots of laughs touring the country side trying to find winery's.

Once we ended up in Lake Tahoe, we found our awesome condos.  Jon and I scored the Master suite in one of the condos and it was big, beautiful, and it totally spoiled us.  It had a steam shower, a large tub, king size bed, fire place, flat screen TV, mini kitchen, and a beautiful view of Lake Tahoe!  Really why would we need to leave the room!  It was nice to be spoiled.

Friday was the wedding for Jeff and Abby.  They both looked so happy and in love.  It was such a beautiful setting and Jon and I could not be more thrilled for them and there adventure of starting their married life together.  This night we celebrated Jeff and Abby with some awesome food and great drinks.  It was truly an awesome event!

Saturday, we took the Gondola up to the top of Heavenly Ski resort and it was breath taking views and so much fun.  We started the day off in the hot tub with some fun conversation with all our friends that were there for the wedding.  What is not to love about waking up in a beautiful place and getting into the hot tub!  So fun.

The next day we headed back down the mountain and headed home.  It was a great trip and one that I will never forget.

Celebrating the big 6

This year for the kids 6th Birthday, I suggested we go to a local party place and have their party.  They had a different idea in mind and I am so glad.
The kids wanted to have their Birthday party this year in our new yard.  So that is when the fun began.  I went into planning mode and I pulled in help from "The Village" so the party went off with out a hitch.
Each kid got to invite 5 friends to the party.  Luckily all the kids were able to come so that worked out perfect for us.  I then formed three teams, each kid and their friends.
I tie Dyed 19 t-shirts before the party with a little help from my friend Stacey.  Each team had tie dye shirts that were different colors.  Then we had three stations, a bouncy house, an obstacle course, and then the 3rd station was arts and crafts.  At the end of the party, we had Oreo Cake and sang Happy Birthday to all three kids.  It was such a fun day.  Each child got to take home their t-shirt, an award, a bag of snack mix, and a sucker.  It was perfect.
Jon and I were very pleased with how well the party went.  All of the kids got along great and had so much fun.

The night after the kids party, we had another party with our Triplet friends.  We had our favorite triplet families over for a BBQ.  There were 13 kids for this party and they all had fun running around and playing in the bouncy house.  We did a pinata this night to and it worked out perfect as each kid got a chance to hit the pinata once.  Once it fell down, there were coins, candy, and toys to be found by all.  You can imagine that not one was missed off the garage floor.  It was a fun night and a very busy weekend.

It was a great way to celebrate the kids turning 6 years old.  I still cannot believe we are already at 6 but I am sure I will continue to say that year after year after year.  The most important thing is that I am loving this ride!!!
