Medieval Times in GA

Aunt Lorretta and Uncle Bern took us to a place called Medieval Times during our stay in GA.  This was so different from anything that we had ever done and we LOVED it.
There were Knights, a King, Princess, Prince and the whole environment was like you were back in Medieval times.
There was no utensils for eating so you used your hands, and while they served the dinner the show went on with the cast of Characters.  There were live horses and lots of battles and awesome things to watch.  At one point during the show, K leaned over to me, as one of the knights had fallen down during a battle, and asked me, "Mom, is he really dead"?
We were cheering for the Yellow Knight and I will never forget how K waved the yellow flag so enthusiastically cheering his Knight on.   Our Knight did not win the battle that night but it did not matter, we still had a great time.

It was a lot of fun and so memorable.  The kids really enjoyed the dinner show!

Sunny Days at Last

This past week has been filled with lots of sunshine and warmth.  We all needed the extra Vitamin D and have welcomed this warm weather with open arms.

Yesterday, the kids got their bikes out of storage and put many miles in them.  They rode and rode and rode and LOVED it.  We had some playdates with some of our favorite friends.  The Boys came to our house and the girls went with Mama Clark.
They went on a nature hike, painted, and did chalk on the driveway.  They had a great time together.  D and K played outside for awhile and then Jon and I took them over to a lake near our house to ride their bikes as we walked/ran to keep up with them.  They had a blast and we ended the playdate with a treat from McDonald's. As we were getting into the van when it was time to take D home and pick up the girls, K and D were talking about having sleep overs for 10 nights in a row and how they wished they could do that then one of them exclaimed "I wish you were my brudder (brother)" and they both agreed that it would be so awesome!  This warmed my heart and so true that both of these boys need lots of playdates for "just the boys" since they are always out numbered by the girls!
It was a splendid day and ended with Jon and I getting a date night out.  We had a great meal and some awesome conversation.  It was a relaxing and beautiful day all around.  A true gift!  Thanks Clark family for the fun playdates.

More Sledding Events

A week ago today, we headed down the woods again to do some sledding.  This time not only did Uncle T join us but so did the Dad guy.  We had a blissful time and we were able to catch some great shots with Dad's new camera.  It was fun.  We had wipe outs and tears but we did top off the entire event with lots of laughs not to mention great exercise.
We may lose a lot of our snow this week so not sure another sledding event will take place but the kids are sure hoping for it.
All I can say after this winter is Bring on Spring!

Sledding Fun Through the Woods

This past weekend, Uncle T and I decided to take the kids to one of our all time favorite sledding hills...Wimpy's and Deadmans!  We used to spend hours of our time on these sledding hills when we were young.  This are located in the woods behind Grandma and Grandpa's house.

It was surprising to see that not much has changed back in those woods.  We were also surprised to see that the paths had not yet been made on these sledding hills and well you could say that we had our work cut out for us.  Once we got the path down, it was a blast.  The kids all loved it but as I did when I was little the walk back up that long path is never fun and well they complained about being tired.

Overall it was a fun afternoon and one that we will repeat again this coming weekend when we can take daddy along too.  It is some great exercise for all of us and we manage to have some good laughs while we are at it.
