This past fall, E was invited to be on the MAGA Team at her Gymnastics Club.  She was so very excited to have made team.  Jon and I were so proud of her but a little unsure what being on the "Team" meant.
We have been through a handful of meets these past two months and well I guess you can say we are starting to "get" how all this gymnastics stuff works.  We are both so incredibly proud of E and how hard she works.  She truly loves Gymnastics and that is her passion.  As a child I was never very flexible and really did not have the right build to be a gymnast but both E and A are different than I am and they both have a love for the sport.  We enjoy watching them and hearing how excited they are when they have mastered a new skill.  They both are in great physical shape from it and they are strong girls.
Here is a clip of Ella's Floor routine...
We are excited to see how E finishes out her season.  The good news is that A was recently invited to be on the MAGA Team for next year.  She will have some big decisions to make between Ski Racing and Gymnastics as there is not enough time or money to do both!

Ski Racing

This winter, A decided that she wanted to try Ski Racing.  Some of her friends from school were going to try it as well so Jon and I agreed that it would be a great thing for her to do.  It reminds me of when I was a kid just a tad bit older than A is now and I would spend my Saturdays going to Ski Jammers.  This was not for racing but basically ski lessons all day long at different moutons/hills around the area.  It helped me to become a better skier and I do not regret that at all.

I took a "few" years off of skiing while having the kids and raising triplet babies but by luck of the draw, my brother won a silent auction to rent a house in Steamboat, CO and we decided it was time to get the kids into skiing.
Look at that smile!

We all now enjoy skiing and some of us snowboarding.  We live close to a ski hill and our kids seem to meet up with their friends at least once or twice a week to ski.  They also just joined their school's ski club.

We are proud of how hard A has been working on her ski racing.  She seems to really enjoy it and she was so proud that her first race ever, she had both sets of grandparents, Mom, Dad and K their to cheer her on.  She ended up with 7th place and was so proud.

Every Saturday we bring her to the hill for 5 hours of practice.  She has never complained and she really enjoys it.  As a family we all enjoy it and we continue to return to Steamboat year after year for a little ski vacation.  This year for Christmas, I received a new pair of skis and boots and they are AWESOME!  I am so excited to have some new gear.

Saturday A and I are off for another race.  I can't wait to cheer her on and also put my new gear on and enjoy some skiing myself.  Such a great sport and activity.  We are blessed to have the opportunity to ski so close to where we live.  So as my kids would say....."Shred On"!

Dog Wedding 2014 Gracie Mae married Gus Clifford

For a long time our girls and the neighbor girl have been planning a dog wedding.  What started out at first as some pretend dog wedding planning turned out to be a real wedding.  I have to give most of the credit for this to my very creative neighbor Melissa who truly took this wedding to a whole new level.  She made the dog collars, shopped for the matching clothes, reserved the photographer, purchased the wedding bubbles, signs, and rose pedals and all in all helped us all to be organized for this event.

Although, the guys were not impressed with the idea, the kids sure will remember this and we made some great memories and actually got some great photos.

This one is my favorite of the wedding:

Absentee Blogger

WOW….It has been over six months since I last posted to the blog.  It's hard to pinpoint one excuse for that but its not for lack of desire.  I have a new computer now and I am in love.  I can move around the internet so much faster and easier and posting to the blog will not be as much trouble as it had been before.
K just said to me the other night, “Mom, I found your blog online and did you know that you have had over 36K visits on your blog?”…..uh, no I guess I did not realize that.  I need to get back at it.
I also am now blogging for my job.  I have been designed to be the person in charge of our blog at work.  You can find that blog here… after posting to it the other day, I thought to myself, ‘Why am I not posting to The Erickson Five anymore.

Bottom line, I vow to get back at it.  Anyone still out there?  If so, post a comment.

Double Digits

It's official, today we hit double digits with the triplets as they turned 10 years old.  WOW!  As I am sure you will be surprised to her me say....that went by fast!
I am so thrilled for my kids to turn ten.  It is fun to listen to them and feel their excitement about getting older and more grown up.  All day long I thought back ten years ago, I remember clearly, where I was, what I felt, and their arrival.  Usually I get all anxious and a little saddened with my kids turn that next age but not this year.  I am excited for them and have enjoyed thinking back about what the past 10 years have brought to us.  We are so blessed.
Jon and I could not be more proud of the young people they are turning into.  They are kind, bright, smart, fun, and full of life.   As their teacher this year often refers to them "Super Stars"!  We are so excited to be on this parenthood journey and raising them.
We have had lots of Birthday celebrations so far and we have a few more to go.  School is out in a few days for the summer and we will soon be on a slower pace schedule which I think we are all looking forward too.
Here are some fun pictures of the kids. This is from Left to Right: Ella, Kendrick and Aimee at 2 months and below that is Ella, Kendrick, and Aimee at 10!

The girls had their party this past weekend.  It was a pool/slumber party and we all had a great time.  They really do have some nice friends and we could not be more pleased with how the party turned out.  Here are a few photos of the party:

We are so incredibly blessed with these awesome kids.  Love the journey we are on with them.  Here is to another 10 wonderful years with our awesome super stars! God Bless.

Gracie Mae's Photogenic

About a month ago, a professional photographer stopped by my house to drop something off.  While she was here she had her camera and snapped a few photos of Gracie.  It is hard to believe how much she has grown up and how fast it has gone by.  Check out these comparison photos of Gracie from when she was a puppy to now.

Ahhhh....How I love this dog.  She adds so much to our family.  She is a nut most of the time but we sure do love her.

First Dip

Tonight was the night for the First Dip in our new pool.  Jon was not able to join in on the fun due to a work commitment but he gave us permission to enjoy it without him.  The kids loved it and so did Gracie.

I can tell we are in for a lot of fun memories with the pool.  K did not want to get out tonight but due to homework he finally had to come in.  We had a great time for their first dip.  I decided to wait for Jon as I want to have our first dip together.

We are so blessed to have this wonderful pool.   Can't wait for those 85 degree days when we can just chill pool side.  Who's in?

Snow Snow and more Snow

The past few winters have been hard long winters.  Just last night it snowed again luckily for us we just had a dusting but north of us they got up to a foot or more of snow.  This winter it wasn't just the snow but it was the COLD!  The kids missed 5 days of school in January and February because it was too COLD to go.  It was crazy cold here.

Here are some fun pictures I took of the kids and Gracie along with her friend Gus (we were dog sitting) out in the pool area having some fun.   Look at all that snow.

Steamboat Springs 2014

I am way behind on this blog but I do vow to get caught up.  So we did our annual ski trip to Steamboat again this year and as always we had so much fun.  We flew in to Hayden, CO this year and that was much more relaxing than flying into Denver and driving up.

Once we arrived, Grandpa Al picked us up at the airport and we headed to the house that we rent.  The ski rental company arrived and Jon and K decided that they were going to snowboard and the rest of us got skis.
We went for our usual pizza that night.  Jon claims its some of the best pizza in the world.  The next day we got up early and hit the slopes.  The kids skied with us the entire 4 days of skiing and they did great.  K actually boarded the whole time and I was so amazed on his progress in those four days.  Jon boarded the first 2 days and then switched to skiing.

Our days were spent skiing and our evenings were spent hot tubing, lounge in our comfy clothes and eating some great food that Grandma Mary mostly worked on.

The trees were very snow covered this year and it reminded my of GG Del.  She loved the snow covered trees.  The pictures that I took did not do the beauty of it justice.  It really was breathtaking and wonderful to be immersed in this for a few days.

The whole trip was amazing and once again we were so sad when we had to say goodbye but so blessed to have the time we did together surrounded by the beauty of God's work.
